So, yesterday Max met a bear! Of course, it was a wooden cut-out of a brown bear! Nonetheless, Max focused on the "fake bear" and stood there shaking and quivering. Now, each time we walk by, he watches that bear intently totally convinced it's going to attack!
We're in the "doldrums " of fishing, waiting for the next run in a week or so. We've booked a halibut fishing trip for Tuesday and plan to travel (without the RV) up to Denali on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we'll have clear weather and be able to actually see Mt. Denali (formerly Mt McKinley).
We found a great Lutheran church (Christ Lutheran) here in Soldotna and were warmly welcomed many times over. It'll be our "summer church home"!
The weather has been amazing but the Kenai Peninsula has a very moderate climate year-round. A fellow church goer, this morning, said he moved here three years ago to get away from winter! It only dipped below 30 degrees twice last winter (the norm). Unfortunately, several wildfires are burning, including one that has "hotshot" crews from ND working on it.
Max says "Hey Y'all "!
